PAUL WILLIAMS

We are raising money on an ongoing basis for Paul Williams now and at future Philip K. Dick Festivals. The next one to be held in San Francisco area in 2012.

Paul WilliamsPaul Williams was a friend of Philip K. Dick’s, executor of his estate, founder of The Philip K. Dick Society and editor of the PKD Society Newsletter. A friend of John Lennon’s and biographer of Bob Dylan, his voice can be heard on “Give Peace A Chance!” and his face seen in the video of The Beatles “All You Need Is Love”. His magazine Crawdaddy, founded 1968, was the first to look critically at Rock music.

Paul was struck by a car as he rode his bicycle in San Francisco while riding his bicycle hit a crack in the pavement coming down a hill in Encinitas, California (near San Diego), fell over the handebars, hit his head and broke his collarbone in 1995. This led to early onset of dementia which now requires full-time nursing home care. All proceeds from our Auction and a part of all sales will go to benefit Paul Williams.
